The first Pussy Palace event was in 1998. Organized by the Toronto Women’s
Bathhouse Committee, it took place at Club Toronto, a gay men’s bathhouse located at 231 Mutual Street. In 2000, police raided the event on the claim of a liquor violation. The LGBTQAI+ community then took to the streets in protest of the police department’s overreach and invasion of privacy.
