When Toronto hosted the G20 Summit in June 2010, the city flooded with anti-poverty and anti-establishment protestors advocating for relief from the recent 2008 financial crisis. While the majority of the protests were non-violent, some groups began riots throughout the downtown core and in response the police responded with unprecedented tactics.
