Exhibition Stadium

Why was Exhibition Stadium dubbed “the mistake by the lake”?

Because it was terrible! Both the Argos and the Blue Jays played here. The seats were oriented for football games and didn’t work for baseball. There was very little shade. Its proximity to Lake Ontario made it cold and windy. And it attracted seagulls – one of which was accidentally killed by a ball thrown by Yankee Dave Winfield.
