An Earth Week-themed panel on climate, innovation, and the women shaping more equitable futures for Toronto and beyond.
In partnership with Zonta Club of Toronto, join Museum of Toronto for an evening exploring how women are shaping the future of our cities through climate science, environmental leadership, and innovation.
Who designs the future of our city and our planet? How can diverse ways of knowing influence climate action, green technology, and engineering solutions that work for everyone?
Featuring Dr. Cheryl Teelucksingh, Michelle Li and Emmay Mah, this conversation reflects on this year’s Earth Week theme, Our Power, Our Planet, and the role of women in imagining more equitable and sustainable futures.
Dr. Cheryl Teelucksingh is a Toronto-based sociologist and Professor in the Department of Sociology at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she also serves as Department Chair. Actively engaged with community and environmental organizations, she brings a deeply collaborative and justice-oriented approach to understanding and transforming cities like Toronto.
Michelle Li stands at the forefront of the global climate movement as a Climate Champion, thought leader, and speaker. She is the founder of Women and Climate, a nonprofit that inspires climate action by creating joyful and safe spaces for engagement.
Emmay Mah joined the Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA) as Executive Director in 2019. For the last 20 years, Emmay has worked in the non-profit sector locally and internationally, developing and managing programs focused on child rights, health, and the environment. She is passionate about working with local movements to build healthy, equitable and climate-friendly cities, and resilient communities.
The evening also includes time to explore The 52 exhibition and connect with fellow attendees.
