New Location

A new hub is taking shape
in the heart of Toronto.

Museum of Toronto is Coming to
2 Queen Street East in Spring of 2027

Toronto is a fast-moving city. Its stories are layered and stretch across generations, neighbourhoods, and communities — and peeling back those layers of history helps us better understand the city we call home today.

Our new home at Queen and Yonge is where the city’s commercial, cultural, and civic lives meet. Museum of Toronto extends that tradition by remaking a landmark street front into a modern place of encounter for residents, newcomers, and visitors to Toronto alike.

Whether you’ve lived here for decades, just arrived or are discovering Toronto for the first time, our new home will offer you new ways to see the city.

More space for Toronto’s stories

Our new home will have the city’s first permanent Toronto history exhibition, and a special exhibition space that will rotate annually giving visitors more reasons to return often.

A dedicated immersive space will use projection, spatial audio and immersive design to bring moments from Toronto’s history to life, alongside digital interactives, maps, film and sound.

An Indigenous sound installation and a public art piece will make the arrival at 2 Queen part of the museum experience itself.
